RE: Good Sam ERS strikes again
I have used Good Sam ERS. The tow truck driver went way out of his way to make us happy. No money up front. Towed my pickup to one dealer who didn't work on diesels so he towed us to another dealer who did. Then the next day Good Sam ERS called me back to make sure we were taken care of. Very happy with the service.
Just my 2cents.

Guess the birds are putting more money in the economy than tourists. So they get the nice beach.
I live close to a National Recreation Area and there are about a third of the camper we had last year. Most of the ones here are in tents. The water level of the lake is about 40 ft. below normal so that probably has some to do with it though.

We as tax payers "hired" the police and judges to take care of the problems like this. If they can't do the job they need to be "fired" and replaced. I know I wouldn't last long in my job with poor service. JMHO

I also like Lloyd Park. Traders Village gets awfully busy on the week-ends because of the flea market next door (hard to even get in or out of the park). Other than that it is a nice park. Tree Top in Arlington is a nice place and close to lots of shopping. Have fun!

I live next to a National Recreation Area. Every year they have closed off access to more and more of the area. The park rangers treat everybody rude and act like they don't want anybody out here. I have talked to others in other states and think it is a problem all over the US. The excuse here for closing areas is resource conservation. What ever that is?
The also don't look like "rangers" anymore. More like military or swat. Bulletproof vests, buzz haircuts, pistols. Whats the deal?

RE: Dometic Refer Recall - Possible Fire Hazard -Update 2/13/07
I got a letter from Dometic in March of this year telling me about the recall and that I should call them to see if my unit was on the list. So I call and it was. I told them I had taken it in last year for a recall and asked if this was a new recall or the same one..
They said it was "brand new" and I need to take it in. So I took it back in and guess what. The dealer said "WE already fixed this one why did you bring it back in."

I have the slideout awning and I think it helps on cooling. We did have 80 mph winds once while camped and I pulled the slide in because I was afraid the wind would damage the awning.

I saw on our local new station that a lot of the trucking companies are setting the governors at 65 to save fuel but the people that own their own trucks it up to them what speed they drive.

RE: Reminder! Secure Awning when on the Road!
A word of caution. The wind blew my awning up while going down the road like this and it broke one of the end caps on the tube. I got a new cap and thought I could replace it myself. Broke my thumb and nearly put my eye out when the spring inside turned loose.
